My journey to support your mental well-being

My name is Paula Coyote Schaaf. I have over 20 years of experience working with teens up through adults of all kinds, especially those who identify as neurodivergent and LGBTQ+.  I believe mental health support should be accessible to everyone.

My  guiding principle: Mental health for all

The inspiration behind Coyote Cares Private Practice is simple yet profound: mental health is a universal right, not a privilege. I firmly believe that financial constraints or lack of insurance should never be barriers to receiving the help you need. My main goal is to break down these obstacles, ensuring that compassionate, effective mental health support is available to everyone in Kansas City, Missouri, and beyond.

My unique approach: Building trust, fostering growth

What makes my counseling style unique? It's rooted in building genuine trust and creating a non-judgmental space. I work with individuals, couples, and groups, focusing on active listening and helping you practice essential skills to navigate life's challenges. My goal is to empower you to live your best life, free from judgment, and supported by a therapeutic relationship built on respect and understanding.

Who we help: A practice for everyone

I am passionate about working with a diverse range of clients, understanding that mental health concerns affect everyone differently. My practice welcomes teens, adults, couples, ethnically diverse individuals, males, females, LGBTQ+ individuals, and neurodivergent persons. I am  dedicated to addressing a wide array of mental health challenges with sensitivity and expertise, ensuring everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.

"I am here to help you on your journey to good mental health. I want you to live your best life."
